Remembering our Valentine's Day Trip 2018

After work, February 13, 2018 we drove up to Sedona. We took our doggies, Chanel and Chloe with us, and stayed at one of our favorite places- Red Agave Resort.

To help save money, we brought our Instant Pot with us and cooked in the room. I found a recipe for baked ziti, and it was delicious! It was fun preparing dinner together in our little studio. I love cooking along side Chris.

On February 14th, we stopped in Silver Son West to look around. There was a kitty cat that met us in the parking lot. He let me pick him up, so my day was already made. We kept coming across him in the outside areas of the store. He was a handsome little fella.
We took a drive down Schnebly Hill Road for a bit, and went to Pisa Lisa (which we LOVE) for lunch. We ate out on the patio since we had the dogs with us. It was cold out, but as always, the food was super good and made up for it. The waiter just loved Chloe and Chanel and gave them lots of attention. We treated them to some pizza crust since it was a special occasion.
We hung out in Sedona on February 15th and 16th. Chris stopped in to a coffee shop, and while I was waiting outside one of the baristas ran out with treats for Chloe and Chanel. After he went back inside a lady came up to me to chat. She was telling me that she was from Canada and that her husband and her daughter are traveling with her. She went on to say that those two keep getting irritated with her because she keeps stopping to talk to strangers. She was telling me all of this as the very people she was talking about were very clearly trying to drag her away from me. It was pretty amusing. Later, we headed to the Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park. I really love how calming it is there.
We headed to Jerome, AZ for a bit February 17th. We hit some shops and did lunch at Haunted Hamburger.
Our friends Sam and Steven let us know that they were in Sedona, so we headed back that direction to meet them at Oak Creek Brewery for beers with them.
We got a hotel room in Cottonwood later and tried dinner at a place called Adriana's. It was SO good! Adriana and her young son were the only wait staff, but it was still some of the best service we've received in a long time. We ordered some spicy cheese dip and it was AMAZING! Adriana called everyone "sweetheart", but in the most sincere way. We have to go back and see her again!

On February 18th, we explored old town Cottonwood. We went to a store called Cartwheels, and I found a cute journal and we had a great idea to start writing about our off-road adventures and the little trips we take here and there. It would be so fun to add photos and drawings and paintings too!

I bought a magnet a store called Bueno- it has a cowboy on it riding a giant jackrabbit. At a store called Papillon, I bought a tiny vintage deck of cards with a little black dog wearing a jumper and playing the bagpipe. You know, just the bare necessities. I was excited to find a ginormous pair of shades a boutique there too.
We weren't ready to go home yet, so we hit the road from Cottonwood to Sedona. We found trail 9845 and the views there were great! We tried to go to Red Rock park, but they had already closed for the day, so we just took this pretty backroad to Sedona.
